Natural Acne Treatments – more you can do without creams
JOHN ALEXANDER L. NICOLAS
Acne creams and lotions always promote some newly discovered chemical that can rid you of acne bacteria, pimples and all that quickly or painlessly.
There are more natural remedies to look at that are mentioned by many internet bloggers, sometimes backed by doctor advice. Some require some mixing at home while others are packaged for customer use.
We have previously made a short article on home remedies involving some fruits and vegetables. Here is a few more that may be useful as well.
Your basic tool to keep acne and bacteria off is to wash wash wash. Early morning wash rids you of dirt before the day starts and washing at the end of the day is just as important. Use medicated soaps and avoid fragrant ones which can be irritating for some users. Be careful not to over-dry or your skin will produce the oily layer faster and trap more bacteria later.
Tie up your hair because dirt is easily trapped and the ‘hiding behind curtains’ look isn’t good if oily hair leads to bacteria on your face.
Eat vitamins and minerals…then eat more
Vitamins and minerals are important for skin cell growth and health. Nutrition controls the hormone balance which lead to acne or not. Multi-vitamin supplements are easy choices for the average working person but a good orange goes a long way. Vitamin A is very important skin tightening and sebum oil decrease so take some where you can, like red meat, eggs and leafy vegetables.
Some foods contain the vitamin necessary for acne removal but need to work on the skin directly. Home remedies can be made and applied to the skin for facial mask or soothing gel.
One helpful food is honey half diluted with water applied to the face. It has disinfecting and anti-bacterial properties good for blemishes and clogged pores, which normally give some bacterial growth. Honey is also good for sensitive skin users.
Oatmeal (yes oatmeal) is still a good source for absorbing sebum oil and ‘opening up’ the pores. Cook a small amount as if you were going to eat it and let it cool down and apply as a mask or layer. Mix with honey to spread it easier but don’t leave it too long or it will be sticky.
Some Natural leaves to deal with Acne and such…
Some natural plants are being used in new acne creams to act as natural medicine but try out some of the oils by themselves and see the results.
Olive Leaf Extract, also used in fevers and coughs, can clear up small blemishes and increase skin cell count to replace any dead skin cell for smoother skin.
Licorice Root Extract can solve inflamed or reddened skin which is a side-effect of acne formation can be put on the skin as lotion or as a paste with yogurt mix.
Aloe Vera is a natural antibiotic to increase immune system and get rid of bacteria in and outside the body, which is why it is another important ingredient in acne creams.
Out of the ordinary
You can find a lot of advice on what you can do with food and clearing up acne. Natural remedies cover a wide range of food but skin sensitivity and allergies may decide which is best.
Acne medications update their brands with natural ingredients for both promotion and health issues when people try natural remedies by themselves. It’s always best to try a little of each.
