BABY ACNE PRODUCTS – creams and lotions to soothe acne and itchiness

Acne can occur in babies, even when they are only three months old. Sensitive skin and low body immunity does notBABY ACNE PRODUCTS allow them to use adult acne products. Moreover, you cannot explain to your child the basics of acne treatment and remedy.

There are creams and lotions suitable for babies to ease through the process and decrease the baby’s need to pick and scratch the little baby whiteheads. While many products are in the market that claim to help the problem, it is always first priority to consult your paediatrician before doing anything to your baby.

Here are two products containing chemicals necessary to battle acne and skin irritation that are mentioned frequently by few worrisome parents.

AQUANIL CLEANSING LOTIONBABY ACNE PRODUCTS

The cleansing lotion is an alternative when babies are sensitive to bath soap and have skin irritation and redness. It removes dirt and oil and can be used daily.

            The cream contains benzyl alcohol and sulphate which both decrease irritation and keep the skin smooth while removing any oily substance that would cause the baby acne. It is helpful for those with allergies to some soap chemicals. The cream has high water content so it keeps the skin moist.

            Apply a palm full and gently rub on affected skin area until forming lather. Do not wet with water and dry the excess with paper towel.

AVEENO 1% Hydrocortisone Anti-Itch Cream

BABY ACNE PRODUCTS            This product is for sensitive skin users suffering from rash or baby acne-like symptoms that keep them from making skin worse.

            The anti-itch cream gives quick itch and pain-relief for itchiness caused by skin irritation, rashes and eczema, of which may be conceived as baby acne if not determined correctly.

            It contains Oatmeal solution with Vitamin E and Aloe Vera, important nutrients needed for skin growth and relief for babies. It contains chemical cortisol that stimulate hormones to secrete chemicals parts of the body to relieve pain, both feeling and physical area.

            Apply on sensitive area of skin and pat dry with towel to remove excess cream. Fast pain relief is temporary so apply three times a day.

OTHER PRESCRIBED MEDICINES (Seek advice from your Paediatrician beforehand)

  • Topical antibiotics like erythromycin or clindamycin, both to deal with allergic reactions or continuous itchiness.
  • Oral antibiotics like tetracycline and minocycline, to treat serious acne outbreak or rash
  • Retina A drug which is used for relieve skin redness and irritation, a strong form of Vitamin A.

Baby acne prevention:

  • Plenty of water and fresh fruit juice to drink for vitamin intake.
  • Do not allow your baby to touch, squeeze, pick or dig the acne.
  • Pat the affected area with paper towels and throw them away.
  • Clean the baby’s bed daily and change sheets if needed.
