Baby Face Acne - not a good look for our beautiful angelsBest Acne Treatments

The first thing is to stay calm as Baby Face Acne is very common and affects 20% of all newborns. Mothers usually see the condition on the face, cheeks and the back. Interestingly male babies are often more affected by Baby Face Acne than female babies - isn't that strange?

Baby Face Acne basically looks very similar to adult acne, you know the score - whiteheads and red inflamed spots that look pretty awful. Baby Face Acne is stimulated by the overproduction of the oil glands caused by the crazy hormone excitement. This is a key development time in human growth and in addition any medications the mother is taking during nursing can also affect the babies skin.

The good news is that there are lots of things you can do to calm down the Baby Face Acne. The main thing is to not be tempted to apply adult products to the skin. Babies need to use either products from their doctor or those made especially for their age group. What works on you should not be used on your newborn.

Remember to only use the softest most natural fabrics close to your babies skin as rough towels or blankets can encourage the development of Baby Face Acne and also make it worse. Also, when there is spit up milk on the face, remove it extremely gently as this regular rubbing can also bother Baby Face Acne. Remember to go light with the cleansing as overdrying will also bother the baby making them try and rub and scratch more than they should.

Keep calm as Baby Face Acne usually only goes on for a few weeks or can last up to a few months of the babies life. If you are at all concerned about it then you should of course head to your doctor. Good luck with your beautiful, healthy bundle of joy...
