Topical Heat

Topical Heat– Topical heat uses warm to hot temperature for the skin to be felt to deal with acne problems.

Bacteria needs a ‘not too hot, not too cold’ environment to work and cause acne breakouts. Apply heat to the outer skin to the inner skin will cause the bacteria to either die or move closer together, thereby giving treatment a better target.

This is common theory which also applies to acne treatment the same as standard antibiotics kill them quickly. However, how to control the temperature is important as it may be more painful before healing. Heating the acne-prone skin may also cause burning, drying and skin peeling which will only let in new bacteria faster.

Zeno brand recently tried out a clinical test with strong results on the treatment but added that great care was heavily focused on when to apply and when to stop, and repeat. If at home, a simple hot towel or ‘chemical compress’ will be okay for personal treatment. Just remember to ‘cool off’ if it is really to hot to handle.
